help me!!!

I have an ECS K7SEM Motherboard that I just bought with an AMD athlon 1GHZ processor and it also came with a spare AMD Duron 950mhz processor, now heres my problem. When the 1GHZ processor is installed it powers on stays on for about 15 seconds and then turns off, when the 950mhz processor is installed it doesn't turn on at all, why is this happening?!

could you show the specs of the whole computer please?

I am thinking heat right off the batt.... also r u using a thermal sensor or anything? If you are and it is interferring with anything on the CPU then it could cause that to happen...

I have a heatsink and fan but the fan isn't very big and it is kind of a thick heatsink maybe its just heating up faster then the heatsink can cool it down let me give it a try and I'll let you know how it works out!

It worked! It stays on now but I still have a problem....it just has a black screen it doesn't actually do anything...I have a boot disk in it and still nothing can anyone tell me why this might be happening? is the board shot?!

Try rebooting and holding the "insert" key. That should set the board to default settings. You may just have something that is screwy in the BIOS that isn't detected properly.
