Kids splitting cable between TV's

I have 4 bedrooms upstairs but only 1 room has a cable hook up. Can I split the cable from my room to 2 of my other rooms and watch different channels or the same channels? (I have regular digital TV)

that's what i wanted to know. can i just hook up a splitter and run it to the other two rooms? would that allow the other two rooms to watch independent channels or watch what the main tv is watching?

You would need a cable tuner box for each TV. Splitting the cable
should work. Worked for me, 1 cable 2 splitters for a VCR, cable
tunner, and internet.

if it is regular cable you wont need a cable box for each tv because the tvs have tuners in them as it is

if its satelite or digital cable, then u need a cable box for each, but it will still work

Well I'm three days older than dirt. I got the tv a few years after
dirt had been around a while. My tv needs a cable box.

My suggestion would be to put your splitter as far away from the tv sets as possible. This will help with signal loss. Also when purchasing splitters try to get the highest rated one (in terms of MHz) you can to prevent siganl loss.

nope... not at all. ive got digital cable and ive only got one box. (in the livingroom). the only things you need is 1)to make sure that the other tvs your wanting to hook-up are cable-ready. and 2)split the cable BEFORE the box. just buy a splitter and run the wire. youll get all the basic channels but no pay channels (HBO,MAX,etc...).

heck... my modem and router are on one of those splits as well.
