Kids RJ45 to RJ11 adaptor - Help!

I have a house that I am wiring for for a friend with Network and phone. We had some electricians to the wiring and they only installed 1 single CAT5 cable per keystone jack. We expected at least two in some of them so we could have a network and phone. I refuse to carry network and phone over the same cable as that is just introducing a more potential problems.

Here's what I need. I intend on wiring the house with CAT5 keystone jacks and using a adaptor if I would like to use telephone on that particular jack. I have a friend who showed me one but I cannot find them them anywhere. It just clips into the RJ45 hole and makes the RJ11 plug fit into it.

I don't have to worry about the other end as I am using a "leviton" brand structured media "telephone Panel" (picture here). It takes your incoming phone line from the demarcation box and you can plug your CAT5 cables into it for whichever jack you are using in the house.

But I'll need this adaptor for the keystones to make this system work. Can someone help me out. Please. I know they exist, but I couldn't find them on the net.

Gary

You dont need an adapter it plugs right in. the rj 45 is the same as an rj 11 with 2 additional terminals on each side.

LOL, I used to do that with my laptop because I wouldn't lookwhile connecting the laptop to the modem, and it fits snug in the rj45.

Thank you. I guess I should have checked that before. I went over to one of my jacks and popped an RJ11 right it to it. Silly me.

Thank you anyway. Appreciate the response.

If you want a better understanding of the correct procedures and standards for setting up a whole house technology center I suggest the exam cram hti + book. It is about $ 25.00 and better than the $ 160.00 book from Cisco and Blue volt. The Cisco book is full of errors.
Fortunately in my class the instructor retired from Lucent as a telecom engineer, two Students taught the electricians aprentice program in the ibew, one student was a sound studio tech, two were mcse certified and last but not least one was a hvac controls tech so we had a pretty good class.
