Systems lsi logic scsi adapter 1020/1030 malfuctiong

I was installing a 250 GB IDE HD in my cpu when this all started I got it in and rebooted then I was brought to westen digital please insert cd-rom I waited so I could set it up in windows since there is the whole 137 GB cut off unless supported by windows then I got a NTRLD vendor missing so I shut down my computer and opened it up (after unplugging every thing of corse)then I happened to notice that my scsi cable was showing serious signs of fraying and there was a small area where I could see the wires sticking out so I got a new 68pin 4 device w/ terminator cable same as was initialy installed (I already pulled the 250 GB HD untill I get this resolved) then I hooked up my cables and started my computer it goes throu this initializing........ phase normal but then I get an ERROR! Adapter malfuctioning! notice then my ata card pops up nothing is on it then I'm brought to a strike F1 to reboot or F2 for setup utillity both the scsi drives are not coming up and they contain my OS and some minor but very essintial data or I'd scrap the whole thing right now and set my computer up with a 20 and 250 ide HD and be done with scsi altogher If anyone can give me a few ideas as how to remedy this situation I would be very grateful. I've already pulled every thing and tried a few differnt cable setups but to no avail.
