Having trouble booting to XP

I have XP pro on one partition, C:, and recently installed lindows on another partition, F: Today I formatted the F: drive (now I realize that I shouldn't have done that) and when I went to reboot I get a bunch of zeros and ones all over the screen after it does the "verifying DMI" check.

I tried doing a repair install but it didnt work. I have a ghost image of the C: drive from last month and have tried ghosting the drive, but I guess I'm not doing it correctly.

Are there any other solutions besides a clean install of xp.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Edit:

I'm almost positive that I did the ghost correctly and that didnt work and I tried doing a repair of XP and it said it was successful, but when the computer rebooted, I got the zeros and ones over again.

I'm guessing that it's looking for lindows because before, when I would turn on my computer, I would be asked what I wanted to boot: Lindows, run a diagnostics, some other option and boot to xp.

Burn Lindows with a good match and a lot of gas? lol jk. Ok ummm... Did your program come with instructions. Do u have another comp (obviously cuz u r on one now) that has internet? If so go to your hd's maker's site and dl their like utility to copy files from one hd to another (I think this will work) and just copy the C: to the F: and maybe try booting again... That is an educated guess but I'm sure more peeps will come to the rescue

You would have had to do that if it was any version of linux also (instead of lindows).

If he reformatted the drive, I don't think he can. He will have to reinstall.

hickory,
I can't get into lindows because I formatted the partition, as eagle1 stated. that was my intention, to remove lindows off this system.

thanks for the tip eagle1. does that go for any multiple install, lets say like for two or three versions of window as well?

I think so... yeah.
I mean, if you install Win98se and then win2k the boot loader from win2k will take precedence so if you want to uninstall win2k, you will also have to restore the master boot record by running fdisk /mbr or the fixmbr command.
