No more MTV??

Well for us dish network subscribers that seems to be the case.

No MTV for 9 million DISH viewers

"Besides the MTV music network, channels not available included children's network Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and Black Entertainment Television.

Also pulled were 16 local CBS stations owned and operated by Viacom, including stations in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago."

Considering I watch The Daily Show and Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn every night on comedy central... this really really really realy really sucks.

I'm tempted to switch over to DirectTV but it doesnt seem worth the hassle and from what I've seen, there whole receiver interface sucks...

No worries mate. It'll get resolved soon enough. Personally, I wouldn't mind seen MTV and everyone who is on it thrown into another universe.

Viacom is trying to raise the cost of their channels too much... and they are gonna pull all their channels if dish network doesnt pay them... should be illegal.. thats why viacom owning everything is bad

Well I have DirectTV (change from my C-Band satellite) and it's not really that bad. Although, the receiver is very slow responsive but I don't know if all "small dishes" are like that (since I had a C-Band Dish since 1985!!!).

The slow channel response is due to the receiver buffering the incoming MPEG audio/video stream. It is noticeable on most digital receivers.

I would actually setup a large C-band dish in my backyard in addition to my current cable service, but my association rules say otherwise.

Digital Cable, by comparison channel-for-channel, is WAY more expensive than a dish.
