b321618 is on a distinguished road
Systems MSI SiS 661FX on board Video help

I have a ATI 9500 128... when i put it it the AGP i dont get a screen but the computer sounds like its doing its normal operation... im guessing its because of the onboard video with this card.... ive tryed disabling the onboard in Control panel but doesnt help... and cant see anything helpful in BIOS.... In despreate need of help

Do you have a manual by any chance? Or have you checked online for the online manual?

If you look in the BIOS it will probably have an option similar to this:

Primary Display Adapter: PCI

change that to AGP.

Or check the motherboard manual (as JP suggested) and check the instructions on how to properly disable on board video.

Ive checked the manuel and nothing in there and yes in bios it is at AGP.....

Ok.

not to insult your intelligence at all....but there is one thing that happens to us all in thse situations.

Are you SURE that you plugged the monitor into the NEW video card plug as opposed to the OLD onboard video plug??

Also, try to reset the CMOS (check your manual to find the jumper or remove the battery) and check if that helps.!

yes yes ... the monitor was pluged into the right card... and i cleared cmos and still nothin

does the vid card have any extra power plugs that need to be attached?

Have you tried the card in another system?

ok sorry i guess that was a little confusing...many motherboards have a jumper to either enable or disable onboard video
