Welcome to the forum!
Ok, you probably need a router because the playstation will want its own ip address..and you are only getting one IP address from the satellite I suppose.
A hub or switch dont make new IP addresses, they just multiply the number of connections etc.
I am not sure of exactly how the satellite stuff hooks up..but assuming you can get a router to give you extra IP addresses, you would then just need a thingy to go from the ethernet port of the playstation to the router....and all routers have wired ports so you could just do it that way, run a cat5 from playstation to router.....or you could get an adapter to go from the wired port of the ps2 to a wireless adapter.
So I think you would need a wireless router and then an access point for the playstation to talk to the router wirelessly.

OK, possibly they also call them.."Ethernet-to-Wireless bridge"

And they now make adapters specifically for making playstations or x-boxes wireless
