corrupt .cab files
there are three computers in the room and they all read .cab files just fine whereas i read them with pure corruption. recently it's been a data1.cab files. example:
a week ago i installed a file that had this file and it ran fine; then i had to delete it and re-install, but this time the .cab file has been corrupted. i redownloaded this file from two different sources from my original, but no victory. then i tried using a program that supposedly "fixes" corrupt .cab files, it says it's successful but in the end it itself can't even open up the "fixed" file. in all seriousness i believe it's my hdd (wd sata 120). i'm near rma'ing this hdd and buying an old fashioned wd hdd and using the rma'd as a slave :/ so far i'm very disappointed, so any personal insights would be greatly helped.
btw, i was told a few days ago that installsheild might help. so i'm currently d/ling that in hopes it may actually work, but i doubt it. any thoughts on this continual .cab corruption?
