like this adaware then spybot S&D then ipconfig /flushdns
then ipcofig /release then ipconfig /renew
if your using a router then you can do it from the router if it has some sort of interface most are accessed by http:\\192.168.1.1
if you setup router you'll need to provide your user name and p-word.
the reinstall of tcp/ip suite on the box is a fantastic way to address it with out all the above and then just set the properties of the network connection to obtain ip addrss automatically in most cases you'll do the same for DNS (obatin automatically)
then run the adaware and the spybot
http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download both are free donating to spybot S&D is the cool thing to do but you won't get anything more or less. it's a great app.
another note on spyware detection-(this a cool little trick)if you have a burner burn a copy of the spybot S&D to a cd and don't install it run it right from the cd...you'll sometimes find malware that it wouldn't have otherwise found if it were installed (written to the registry) some malware is intelligent it sees that there are av programs spyware detection programs insatlled and kinda reads their sigs, values, listens for them to be called etc. and basically it moves to something that was not infected and already scanned thereby avoiding detection. Pretty resilient (cockroaches come to mind) anyway this type of malware sucks, self- propogating and intelligent really viral not so much adware but you'll run into someday i'm sure.
Good luck
