Unreadable DVD?!?!

I'm trying to make a backup of my copy of Band of Brothers using DVD X-copy. Im using a a MSI 16x dvd to read from, and lite-on LDW- 411S to burn the media onto. I tried cleaning the disk, and then cleaned the drives with a can of air in case dust was inhibiting something. I did not update DVD xcopy to the latest version because prohibits you from burning protected media, even if it is your own.

Every time i start, i just get these messages:

Error occurred while reading sectors!

UnReadableDVD

Any ideas how to get this working?

my suggestion would be to try DVD Shrink. Its free and it works much better than DVD X Copy.

Did you update the firmware......?

Why don`t you read from the DVD-RW?

Im using dvd shrink right now, thx for the link! So far all seems to be going well, i really hope this works. As for dvd xcopy, it seems to be a waste of money more or less, i have burnt 2 dvd's successfully, and 4 have said that it was unreadable.

Glad it works. I have had a nightmare using a Plextor 708A! I paid 200$ and couldn't read any DVD. It gave me "reading errors" then i swictched to a Lite-On 811S and I love it.

If I may..I suggest you AnyDVD + DVD Shrink. Great combination!

Errr...what? I hope that im burning...what else would it be doing?

DVD Shrnink could decode your DVDs and then you had to burn it with Nero and any other programs...but now they added that feature.

oh....well im encoding right now...so hopefully it burns with this also, and if not, i guess ill just have to use nero. But this should work in most standard dvd players right? (using -R)

yep. Works with everything and if you got the latest version it will burn as well.
