Drivers probs - Senao 2511CD Wi-Fi Card

I just bought a Senao 2511CD Plus EXT2 wireless card. I'm running Windows XP Professional, and have all the latest updates and patches for my hardware and software.

My problem is that I installed the drivers for your card, and proceeded to insert the PC card into my laptop, and it come up with the Hardware Installation Wizard, I click the next button, and it fails to find the drivers for the card. I installed the latest 8.02 drivers and have tried taking the card out and putting it back in. It's still not working.

The card shows up in Device Manager as PCMCIA UNKNOWN_MANUFACTURER and won't install.

There install manual say to install the drivers, then install the card and it will work. Yeah right...

Any help is apreciated!

David

Have you just tried to reinstall drivers off the CD from the device manager entry? Seems to simple for you not to have tried it but you didn't specify.

Thanks for your reply!

The problem is that the 'driver' install off of the CD is just an .exe MSI installer. No .inf files that Device Manager is looking for.

Is there anything else that might work?

If it is only a setup file, and you ran it succesfully, then it almost certainly dumped the inf in the inf folder. You'll have to change your explorer view options if your on the default view to be able to see that folder but just point it to there from an "update driver" within the device manager.

Tried it. No luck. I'm going to call up Senao tomorrow afternoon, and talk to them.

After reading on the web about this card, I was really excited about the high power 200mw output of this card. But, now I'm kind've wondering if I got a bum card or not.

Thanks for the replies though!
