SCO system V ?

Is the crux of the lawsuit that linux distros uses system v? And that the kernel supports it?

No, most of it bases around the IP code.

I see on LJ that the lawsuit against AutoZone is based around the System V code. Check it out here. It would seem easy for autozone to avoid system v if they wanted to. My favorite distro uses bsd style inits--very little system v.

Heh, System V code encompasses much more than just the init scripts in linux. The init scripts are System V style init scripts.

System V is AT&T's version of Unix. Created in 1969 by Dennis Ritchie and Kenneth Thompson at AT&T's Bell Laboratories, this is the first commercial implementation AT&T provided.
