Zonalarm blocking my Eth/Int-ernet

I'm running Zonalarm on each of the five computers in my house, one of which has my ADSL modem on it and shares its connection with the others.

The problem I have is that when Zonealarm is running on this machine it blocks all internet AND ethernet traffic. Or at least I assume this is the case because when I disable it everything works fine.

I have my network card set to 'Trusted' zone and even tried trusting specific internal IP ranges but have had no success yet.

Is there something I can do with it because at the moment to get on the net from any of the computers in my house the one that is always connected to the net is completely defenceless?

Have you set the other computers IP addresses as trusted on your Internet computer?

That's great, so how do I fix IP addresses for each computer? At the moment they're, I guess, just assigning them as they need. Also, if I do this will ZA still be blocking my net connection?

Is there anything listed in your "zones" under firewall tab?

BTW, you don't happen to have "engage internet lock" or "stop all internet activity" ticked?

For your IP addresses in XP or 2K: Start > Run > input: CMD > Enter > input: ipconfig > Enter.

i wanted to add, even though u have ip address in the trusted zone, if ure settings is set to high it will still block it, set settings to medium so it will not block trusted zones i had i hard time figuring that out...

That's great I'll try these, will have to leave it on unprotected another night though oh well, it's got nothing on it and mine's safe.

My worry was that ZA was not only stopping the internal network but also all net traffic too, possibly confused by the external USB ADSL modem not being listed in the zones. But the ethernet adapter is defo set to trusted. Hmm.

Make sure that windows firewall isn't enabled...I know it has nothing to do with za but mine did the same thing with norton.
