how to make 1 partition instead of 2 on 1 hd?

well, get all the information off the hard drive that is important first, then right click the one you would like to get rid of and click delete partition. i think in your case you'll want to do that twice. then what you do is right click the whole big partition now and click create partition, click next next name it, make it format NTFS blah blah blah....... it's kinda self-explanitory

i would do primary partition. extended is for if you were to have 5 or more partitions on that one (1) drive.

If you had a copy of partition magic you could group the free space into your games or movies and music easy, or you could group all 3 into 1 again if you wanted. Handy little utility.

If you use partition Magic, use create on the free space and merge on all 3.

If you use Partition Magic, you'll want to do the backup anyway. I'd suggest that not using PM would be simpler, safer, and better in many respects.
