2 paritions question

Quick question:

Say I have a 30 Gb partition of a 120 Gb HDD.

The 30 Gb has the OS installed, while the other is reserved for programs and such...

When I want to format the OS Partition again and reinstall WINXP an it....all the libraries and links to the Programs and Applications are truncated...

You will have to reinstall every single program and such...

is that correct?

Yes, you will need to reinstall your programs.

You can reinstall over them to the same directory and so that you won't lose your data.

i suppose if you could figure out what registry stuff each program installs (with some sort of registry monitor perhaps?) you could back that stuff up for later restoring.
