Mirroring Drives
Hey I currently am running an AMD 2000xp, 512mb PC2700 High Performance ram so I have an alright comp but I need a new hard drive. Well that probably made no sense. Anyways so I just ordered one (the one I am using now is 19GB from like 98' and is probably the slowest hard drive ever made :P ) from newegg.com - WD 80GB 7200RPM 8MB Cache. So I was wondering if there is anyway I can just directly copy all my info from the current HD to my new one so I don't lose all my programs. The main reason for this upgrade is cuz on my other computer that has a faster hd (it's my moms though or I woulda taken it) but is a tad bit slower, it takes about 15sec to boot completely to windows. This one I am on takes about 1:30min. Very dissapointing and is very slow and lags a lot when I am doing a lot of things. So once again is there any programs I can use to copy it to the new drive. Also most of u know newegg.com doesn't sell retail drives so there is no software that comes with the hd to do it. 1 last thing, I do have a free 3 month trial of Norton Ghost I can install if that would do it.
TY in advance
Mita
