Disk Checker runs everytime i restart

I'm running XP Pro, and everytime I restart my comp, it checks my D drive for errors, although it finds nothing wrong. It's starting to get annoying, any ideas on what could be causing this?

You might try running it (chkdsk) from a Command Prompt and see if it doesn't "unflag" itself to not run next time your restart.

Have you tried "Shut Down" and then powering back on to see if it does it as well?

Check Disk runs on every boot: Note - I have seen this happen when Windows File Protection has either been disabled or not allowed to run upon canceling the bootup Check Disk. Suggestions and Checkpoints:

Go to Start/Run/CMD and type in: fsutil dirty query c:
(Modify the drive letter accordingly)

If it comes back as dirty, it hasn't cleared. For more information go to Start/Run/CMD and type in: CHKNTFS /?

Option: From a command prompt type chkntfs /D and then reboot, a chkdsk should run but not again on next boot.

tried both of these suggestions, no luck.

drive IS returned as contagious, but the fix doesn't seem to work.

You may have a virus. I ran into this the other day on a friends machine. check for virus updates then scan your machine.
