Possible new Windows server version?

It seems MS is being pressured to release new versions of their software. I believe in their MS Licensing 6 scam, you pay for upgrades for 5 years.
Well the biggest problem with a lot of companies was... what if their isn't anything to ugprade TO within 5 years?

Well here's a possible answer.

A pseudo upgrade

Not a real upgrade, just a windows ME of servers upgrade
Basically paying for a service pack and a FEW new things.

With those comments, Microsoft has left open a wide range of possibilities as to what it is planning. The company could simply roll up its various bug fixes and service packs into one update, or it could make more substantive changes to the OS. Microsoft released Windows Server 2003 in April of last year.

One of the big bennies of working in academia is cheap software. I just bought Windows Server 2003 Standard for $87. Office 2003 Pro was $50.40 per license.

I'd hate to be doing this job in the private sector and have to manage a shrinking budget with all these software changes.

"Ah Boss, we, ah, need to buy new server software again."
