If you use a hand saw, make the cut about 1/8 of an inch from the line you want to cut on and then use a power sander or sanding block to finish and smooth the edge of the cut.

If you have access to a circular saw, use a fine tooth blade.

How thick is it? You should be able to score it with a $1.49 acrylic cutter from the hardware store, clamp it down along the cut, and snap it apart at the line.

Anything thicker than 1/8", go with the tablesaw.

And by "fine tooth blade", we're talkin' an 80-tooth Ultra Smooth Combination blade.

A 60-tooth Combination will get you by, but...it's a bit of work to smooth it back out.

Edit: and make sure you leave the paper on the acrylic until you're done cutting.
