Laptop PCMCIA card reader help

I would like to know if there is some special driver i need in order to use my laptops pcmcia slot to read data off a flash card? It seems to think that anything i put in it is hardware. How do i set it up to access the data on a card?

Welcome to TechIMO!!

A flash card is hardware.

As long as you have a PCMCIA adapter for a flash card you should be able to just read the data out of Explorer.

That's how mine works.

Put it in - read it.

I have a card reader for my desktop and the drivers put an option in my computer. How do i access it on a laptop? I said explorer... does it just redognize that is data storage hardware and assign it a drive letter?
