Ok, so I scored a Newton eMate 300 today and it should be arriving within a week. This portable has a pcmcia slot and a serial port. I know there are serial modems available, but as far as the pc card, is there and network/modem or even wireless cards available? Im assuming it only accepts 16bit cards like older PowerBooks, but is there any place to get a used card?
these are not like a regular laptop neo..they have like a 6 inch black and white screen
I don't know if you can get a modem for them but when i was in 5th grade i got banned from using emates since I took the pcmcia 1 meg storage card out of my HP OmniGo and was using it on the emates...man that omnigo was so cool back then 1/2 a meg of built in memory and could fit in my pocket and was more powerful than a big old emateand the GeOS operating system...i wanted it for my desktop since it whooped win 3.1
