does the keyboard pop up held down by to release levers in the corners? If so there should be a pull tab to release it.

to access the internal bays

1) first open the cover/lcd by pulling the 2 side release tabs toward you.

2) once the lcd/cover is lifted, push those same tabs away from you (toward the rear of the laptop). when the two tabs are pushed to the fullest, use your thumb to gently push the outside lip..you must keep the release tabs depressed.

I see - got a cool link http://www.pc.ibm.com/us/support/thi....html#LIKEYRAI
Any way the ****thing won't boot from cd no matter what i try oi can test it and it passes but no option to boot from it in the cmos setup...i got a bootable floppy on a disk but that's kinda useless cuz the drive is never checked...what are the chances that i could run setup from floppies then at a reboot swap the floppy for a cdrom???

What ver. of windows are you trying to put on? If win9X series just format /s from the floppy and then the laptop will boot into dos without a floppy or cd. If you set up autoexec.bat to install cd rom drivers(autoexec and cdrom driver need to be on hard drive also) then your set. It will boot into dos off the hard drive with cdrom support to run the windows setup off the floppy. I have done it this way a few times with lappies.
