so this router is part of the intranet of another network?
I know for linksys routers you have to set them to "router" mode rather than "gateway" mode if this is the case.
The router is likely filtering out the signal coming back from the other comes when you try to connect to them from the wireless comps.

----edit ---

Err ignore the above comment, I just reread it an realized what you mean.

The hub needs to be connected to a normal port with a crossover cable for it to work. Or if this is the "uplink" port on the router, then you can use a patch cable. Forgive me if this simple diagnosis insults you... just trying to cover simple bases first.

ok here is the deal . i have a networjk now that is a seimans 2614 4 port with a print server .
port 1 goes to a hub , off that hub 1 pc is connected .1 line goes off to a hub that connects 4 pc's . another line goes off to another hub that connects 2 more pc .

1 line off the router to a pc

what i have is a ned dlink di-624 wireless . i went from the modem to the dlink , 1 line to main pc 1 line to router but no go . i went in the router (siemans) and turned off dhcp first so it would work just a switch . then i tried taking the the siemans router out and just hard wire from the dlink to the hub no go .

xp home on main and 98se and xp pro on all other pc's

same workgroup

2.28 fireware on dlink

ok this is where i wanna go with this . i got a shed out back of my house and i want to put a pc in there and connect it to the network . so i got a dlink di-624 . what i would like to do is

make dlink main router
use siemans also so i can use the print server in it and not have to buy something new to so this .

i connected the dlink in line and unless the pc's were hard wired to it i couldn't get them to see anything . with the siemans inline i could go into the siemans from the browser but not the dlink .

Here is how I would do it:

Unplug all of the client PCs.

Connect modem to wan port on Dlink router.

Connect Dlink Lan port to Siemens Wan port.

Power cycle the Dlink, then the Siemens.

Log into the Dlink and see what IP is assigned to Siemens. Probably 192.168.0.2

Log into Siemens and configure the Wan to use a static IP. Enter the IP found in the previous step.

For default gateway, use the IP of the Dlink router. Probably 192.168.0.1

For DNS servers, use your ISP's name server addresses.

Go to the Lan DHCP section of the Siemens and set it to use 192.168.1.1 through 192.168.1.255 for assigning IPs.

Reconnect client PCs and switches/hubs. Use crossover cables or uplink ports between the routers and the switches/hubs.

I'm fairly certain that is how mine is set up and it works fine

Yes I use two routers. Mine is set up to separate my test bench from the rest of my lan while allowing them to use the same internet connection. The way I described it will basicly give you two networks. I don't think you will be able to share files between the two or use the print server from behind the Dlink. If you need to do that, ditch the siemens all together or use a crossover cable connected to a lan port instead of a straight cable connected to the wan port.

How far away is the shed from the wireless router? You might need to get a better antenna to boost the signal. It's hard to say without knowing the exact details.
