Kids recording TV programs

I have a windows xp system amd 2400+ with (256+512) Ram and 120 GB harddrive. I 've a 64mb nvidia video card with svideo and rca out.

i want to record tv programs in to cds and convert my video tapes to cds. what is the best way {also reasonably economical}

i saw "Hauppauge WINTV DBX TV Stereo 125CHNL TV Tuner w/FM Stereo Radio PCI" looks good but Is there a way to do this without buying one of those tv tuners?

raaj.

I didn't read it but there may be something there for you.

http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduc...ription=tv2000

the 'expert' one has the remote control with it. These have gotten great reviews.

Bog standard TV card, sound card and AVI_IO captures all I have thrown at it.
I have been waiting too long for companies to release some of the old videos on DVD but when they arrive they are stupid prices.

Convert my own. Still learning

Check out ChrisTV and get a card supported by this program. I recently got a used asus tv fm card and the software that came with it is really crappy. ChrisTV is great, lets you record in all kinds of formats and has other neat features. There is a freeware version that wont record and a shareware version that will work for 30 days. You can also buy a full version.
