WINDOWS XP Home reboots on its own

While playing starcraft online my system just reboots on its on.

My SYSTEM
ASUS A7N8X DELUXE
1G PC 2700 DDR
GFORCE 5200 128 M VC
52X24X52 CDRW

what kind of PSU are you running?

do you have enough cooling in your case?

do you have the lates patch of the game?

latest drivers for your Video card and Motherboard?

cooling is goodlatest patches
updated drivers but windows update tells me there is an update avail but when i check my drivers the date is the same for the driver installed and for the updated one

most the time i find random reboots are a power suppy or ram issue .

halo used to make my pc reboot when i quit the game ...turned out to be a compatbility issue with halo and my card....RAD 9000....even though i had the up to datest drivers at the time........3.7s 0r 3.8s.........the issue was only fixed in a later driver release by which time i'd bought a new rig.......might be a driver-card-gamesoftware conflict........thats not been fixed yet by a driver release

dl the forceware drivers from the nvidia site..........uninstall your drivers ........even if they are the same and install your downloads it just might help.

ok just uninstalled and downloaded the new nvidia drivers I will wait and see what happens

Dont rely on Windows updates for your hardware drivers. Get the real thing from the manufacturer. Windows update drivers are basic and wont take full advantage of your hardware.

You did good with the Nviidia drivers, dont forget getting latest for your sound card too. Sound cars issues can cause reboots in games as well..

Thanks for all the help but I found the problem.
It was a pop up or addware after it caused my machine to reboot it was closed out so I didnt see. While I was playing I guess it activated and caused the reboot.

At least I have verified all of my drivers.
