Ok my friends pc started giving him a "cant find os error". It says something about a mac address then it just wont work. We put in the winxp cd and got to repair and it boots up. But we have to do this everytime. We formated and it still does it what can we do. He has a asus a7n8x-x nmobo with 120gig hitachi HD
Make sure it doesnt have any "pxe" boot options turned on in the bios...and/or make sure it isnt set to boot off the nic..or off the network etc. "PXE" means "preboot execution environment" and it is a way to boot of off networks etc...so make sure it isnt trying to do that.

nope it dont tried it. Also we found out its the hard drive. Probably something to do with the boot area. It works fine just not for booting so we downloaded hitachi disk checker or whatever and it gave us an error code like power max does for maxtor HDs. I created an RMA for him and we will just have to wait for them to send us a better HD. Thx guys.
