Overclocking: is it worth it?

I have a Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro and I'm wondering...if I overclock it ( i have redline) will I notice a difference in performance? or will it only have effects on benchmark testinglike 3dMark?

Give it a whirl, then you will know yourself---if I can overclock anything and keep it functioning with stability, im on it!

OC can be worth it depending on the card. It can be used to save money (I bought a 9700np flashed to pro and run can run it at 350/350) or to "go where no card has gone before" With a 9800, you would qualify for the latter of the two. At stock, the 9800 will last you for a few years, but by OC'ing you can make it last longer. So is it worth it? Up to you. IMHO, its defintitely worth it

my brother overclocked his Geforce 2 He got his memory up to 420mhz and it's still stable and it's kept him from having to buy a new card even for the newer games.
