Considering Doing a MSCE

Hi, im 17 years old and currently studying a double A Level in IT ive got no plans to goto University I basically want to get into the world of work and earn some real money for my self. Anyway the course finishs in July when ill be 18 from then I will be looking for full time employment in the IT Industry.

In the past ive heard the MSCE highly recommended and I think its the right way togo and would look good on my CV. My plan is to do a home learning course on it so I can take the course at my own pace and fit it in around my A Level course and from July onwards a job (hopefully).

Im just wondering if anyone has taken it and if they've found it useful weather its worth taking and how hard/easy the course is. Also do you think I should get another system setup running windows 2000 for me to practice stuff on?

its always nice to get the certs. even if we (people who do computers) know that anyone can get them and doesnt mean they know alot of things. This day in age an MSCE is almost as common as a A+ now. it really doesnt mean anything because you have these technical schools as ITT and ECPI basically just passing them out to people.

The best thing to ever have is experience. Try to look for an intern program in you school area. Dont expect to be making $60,000+ right after highschool.

What are you main interest in computers? Hardware? Programming? Networking?

Well, im pritty much interested in all areas of IT ive done a bit of freelance webdesign before for a family member who worked at MCI plus work experience a while back in a computer repair shop. I know experience is very important but I was thinking a MSCE would look good on my CV (Resume) as a A Level is good but a lot of the work is simple stuff such as how to fit hardware or desiging a spreadsheet.

Ps. I don't expect to be earning much for a good number of years
