RHCE soon to be obsolete?

My department is getting a new system in place with RH AS 3.0 servers. We are preparing for this by getting our Linux+ and RHCE certifications. With the new path RHN is going does anyone have any ideas about the necessity and validity of getting the RHCE certification?

Is it pointless? Is there a new certification coming out specifically for their WS/ES/AS products? Thanks in advance.

rhce

Hi,

Having passed my RHCE in November I really hope it was worth all the effort.

Personally I think it is extremely relevant it is the only real exam of its type apart from possibly the CCIE. I run a large team and would always go for an RHCE before an MCSE purely based on the fact they have proven they can fix stuff under pressure.

Good luck with your study, whatever happens you will have learned loads and remembered stuff you forgot you knew.

A site ( http://www.rhce.org.uk ) that you may (or may not) find interesting.

regards
Jalvin
