yeah, actually it "lan" which stands for "local area network"
cant you just go to the site and download the driver or have you already tried that?
I had a similar issue with an older k7s5a board I had...I had it sitting in the box for so long that the driver cd wouldnt even run under xp, lol..so I had to get all the drivers myself...and I couldnt find the right sound driver...turns out there were 2 different sound chips used for different versions of the board.
Actually I used the driver that the microsoft windows update site provided (even after I constantly tell people to NEVER use the drivers from the update site, lol)
Do you know what exact version your board is....that could maek a difference....you should be able to look at the board and it will have a sticker or a stamp or something telling what version it is...like "ver3.1" or whatever.
yes, see
http://www.ecsusa.com/downloads/drivers_k7s.html if you notice there are two different lan chips used for different versions of the board...there is an sis900 lan chip used for some versions and a realtek 8139 used for some versions.
Now I dont see k7s5a "pro" listed...but maybe that is the same as K7S5A+ ?
If worse comes to worse, get you a flashlight and physically look at the motherboard and try to find the lan chip...see if you see a realtek 8139 or an sis900.
