WinXP corrupt registry files

I have installed XP Pro twice, and both times this has happened. Everytime I play JK: Jedi Academy, the PC crashes and when I reboot, it tells me that the file configsys in the registry is missing or corrupt. This happened with SP1 and SP1a(Express). I also installed the new NF2 mobo drivers from the Nvidia site along with the newest AGP driver. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what did you do to correct the problem. System box looks like this.

Abit NF7-S v 1.2(newest drivers from Nvidia)
AMD Athlon XP 2500+ @ 3200+
Mushkin PC-3200 Level 2 Black 2-2-2-5 (normal voltage, and default speed of DDR400)
SCSI CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW (all connected to Adaptec 2940UW Pro)
SCSI IBM HDD (9GB and 36GB)
Antec 400Watt PS

Have you tried a system restore since you loaded the game?
And forgive me for asking.. how old is the game?

CD is legit. Found the problem. Video BIOS cacheable and Systems BIOS cacheable were enabled. Disabled them and problem went away.
