that stopped the " Configmg windows protection error "

250w psu??

That might be part of the problem.

We all have learned the hard way that those boards are VERY picky about power supplies (and ram maybe).

Do you have any other power supplies to try?

I had an issue once were the onboard sound and onboard lan were sharing IRQ11...and they would go to any other irq...so either the sound or lan wouldnt work....what I had to do eventually was uninstall both of them....then make sure I reinstalled the non-working one FIRST...then the other one...at that point they both worked fine. I think that was with an ecs k7ama board.

Moral of the story...see if the yellow exclam is saying a driver problem or a resource conflict...very important difference.

Or just uninstall the onboard sound...go to the bios and disable the onboard sound also..then reinstall the onboard lan...and if it works then....THEN go back and enable the onboard sound again.

Or buy a $ 10.00 sound card.

BTW: Just for safety, change the battery. It is a cr 2032, (be sure to check that I'm right). The stock ECS batterys seem to be problemaic.

I've got mine OC's to 143/143 with a cheapo bios and it is stable as a rock.

A 250W is a little light, but you should be ok for now. Down the road you may want to upgrade to a 350W to give yourself some head room.

IRQ sharing is fine. It's all PCI.

250W power supplies are not.

The speed should be set to 133/133. Marketing idiots tend to make that "FSB266" and "DDR266" or even "PC2100", but it's still only 133 MHz. You've been misled, technically what you have is spot on.

RAM should always be tested not trusted. www.memtest.org
