DirectX v8.1 Win 2000 PRO

I need this file for a program. Direct X v9.0 will not work.

I may be wrong but I don't think you can revert to an older version of Direct X.

OldVersion.com has DirectX 8.1, but like Bill said, you CANNOT roll back DirectX. I believe there are applications that attempt this, but I don't think they work too well.

If you wanna rollback, you're gonna have to reinstall.

Thanks Bill but I have directx v8.0 on my pc now. I am trying to updrade from 8.0 to 8.1-several message groups tell me that v9.0 will work but I don't want to take a chance when the program asks for 8.1-thanks.

OLDVERSION.COM does have a DirectX 8.1 BUT... BUT ...it is for
98 & ME. I never knew there was a difference in OS's as regards DirectX. BEEN ONE HECKUVA PARTY as Gus said to Woodrow.

If you look close, you'll notice there's a .cab for NT versoins of the OS as well.

I just installed it a week or so ago on my 2K box.

Found the cab file you mentioned-extracted it and the only setup file mentioned was DPVSETUP.EXE file. Clicked on same and got an error message "Bad Command Line Paramaters"-
if it ain't onething it is another.
