New Linux User

Ok... So I've just installed Mandrake Linux 9.2 on a seprate partition on my hard drive. After looking at it for a while I've started to learn that I'm in a whole new world. I'm excelent with Windows, but with Linux... its like sending me to China blindfolded and telling me to find the bulletproof munk...

So my question is... Where is a good place to start to learn Linux?? What are the best apps to use? Any websites?

Thanks

Linux Tutorial

im pretty new to linux as well and that site has helped me out with stuff. IRC channels are also a great resource for real time help with your problems. I recommend playing around with the text editor "vi" but make sure you have a faq with you cause it can be kinda tricky.

The cool thing about linux is you learn along the way and it gets easier like using windows I am a full time linux user now. Although getting the ATI OpenGL and X Driver working was a pain :P

I think crouse's reply should be stickied to the top of this forum. It is a very comprehensive answer to an often asked question.

I totally agree with that, his post was not a regular one and should be considered more than a normal post IMO.
