AMD64 FSB?

Could someone clear something up for me? When I read articles on the AMD64 procs (specifically the non-FXs), I see differing information on the FSB. Some show it to be 200, others 1600, and then some others say there's no FSB because the memory controller is integrated into the chip. What's the deal?

Its variable. Im building my bro. one soon. And even the egg dont list a fsb. Its cause it will auto change on the fly. Faster mem means faster capable bus speed overall. When surfing net it will lower as not all the mhz needed. When gaming it ups on the fly without anything noticible happening. Like stutter or what not. Just like the powernow tech in amd lappys. It lowers heat and power use. great thinking going on at amd labs.

200MHz FSB x 8 pump = 1600

this is my understanding, so PC3200 is the bare minimum

remember that the FX chips require REGISTERED ram chips

I figured it was 8-pumped, but I still don't get what people mean when they say the FSB is integrated into the chip (like as Xtreeme mentioned, on the NewEgg site).

Becuase technically there is to Front Side Bus... For Athlon64/FX its called a Hypertrasport Bus. I haven't heard anything like variable speed for games vs net surfing, but basically what people mean by "its build into the chip" is that the processor no longer needs to communicate with the northbridge chip. All the stuff northbridges do it typical PC's is now built in to the CPU itself giving a nice performance boost
