Food TV monitor?

Yeah guys, I was wondering if I could take my TV and make that into my pc monitor. If I can what do I need to do this. And what one would be good enough so I wont lose resolution? Please help.

About all you'd be able to use it for displaying movies on the TV. Even at 640x480 text is blurry, and it makes using almost any app impossible.

an HDTV would make it a little better.. but certainly not good. I've seen a 40" LCD TV on techTV that offered resolution up to 1280x720 but it was about 5700 dollars.... not very practical.
