Interesting CPU Test

It came to my mind one day to test the famous AMD and Intel CPU's and see what result(s) I would get. I did this test with some of my fiend students from my college. The test was suppose to see how the CPU's would react when used 100% without having any fans to cool them down. We used an AMD Athlon XP 2500 and a Intel P4 2.4. The results we got were really interesting. oth CPU's got damaged after the test. Both died after the test (they didnt work at all after the test was made) The difference in the results was: The AMD processor did its job even without fans and didnt decrease in performance util it literally exploded. This is really dangerous because it would damage the motherboard badly. The Intel did its job with no decrease in speed for like 10 minutes, after that the speed started to decrease dramatically until the whole processor died after 5 minutes. No damage was made in the motherboard, but the CPU got totally damaged, so was the AMD. I am eager to do the same test in a Celeron and Duron. Anyways I just wanted to share this test for you guys. Enjoy!

Tom's Hardware did the same thing a while back. I mourned the death of the processors back then when I read the article.

Why did you have to rip open old wounds, Dan?!

j/k btw

Hmm, I guess my experiment is with that same AMD processor, a heatsink and 6 case fans.

Very interesting.

And you guys didnt think I almost cried to my teacher to please give me the processors instead of using them in a 1 hour test?
Actually to tell you the truth it was a waste I agree, but I think it was worth it since it was so interesting to watch and learn.
I didnt know this test was floating around the web and that Tom's hardware did a similar test, well we are not the only persons then.
Anyways I really want to see how Celerons and Durons react when doing the same test with them. Should be interesting to see the results.
