DUAL BIOS on GigaByte: Any Use ?

Anybody ever use the Dual Bios (tm) feature on GigaByte Mobos ?

Is it really useful ?
Or just a sales gimmick to allay fears of da Newbie DOOG and others ?

Well I have had a Gigbyte BX2000 m/b for a good few years now and have never used the dual bios feature. I think most people will never have a use for this feature unless you they do alot of bios flashing.

I had the primary bios die on my Epox board. Had it have Dual Bios, I wouldn't have had to RMA it as it would still be running on the backup bios.

It's a safety thing... just like a powerbar. You may not get a surge that will fry your computer but it's there, just in case....

Well it has its use, like preventing a bad flash or getting corrupted by a virus. The second BIOS is a true ROM, basic and unmodifyable.

Tough it looks weird when you boot up a machine with a Gigabyte board and you see the logo DUAL BIOS.

Let's say it doesn't look as good as a DUAL PROCESSOR logo.
