can't connect properly

I have a problem everytime i try to connect to the internet. I get a message that saids.....could not execute the external program C:\windows\pup.exe. Can you please tell me what does this mean?

I already did that, it detected 11 and was ask if i wanted them quarantine and i click ok. The message still appears

What OS? Have you hit start--run, typed msconfig and checked out your startup tab? You certainly do not need pup.exe to be running when you start up Windows.

ok on run I type in msconfig the startup tab is selective, Is that where it suppose to be?

I check for everything that had a check next to it and one of them was morpheus. I uncheck that one and was ask to restart, i did. When booted back up i click on internet explorer and the message was no longer there. I had morpheus on startup, and it seens like it was messing up something. Thanks

Glad it worked out for ya...msconfig is our friend! Thanks for the good link Bill, I'll be sure to pass that on to my "not so computer savvy" friends when they have similar probs and I'm trying to explain msconfig over the phone.
