toshiba tecra display probs

Hi guys need some help here ... Have a Toshiba Tecra 780 CDM works perfect except the display has a "dead Zone" abt the last Half of an inch on the right side of the screen is black like it's dead but the machine thinks it's there , so we get video hidden as if putting to large a display on a too small screen . When using external VGA to monitor it works fine so it must be hardware. Don't know squat abt this type screen but would guess that if it was a tv there would be an internal adjustment for screen size . Any ideas??? pls and thanks ... Marty
by the way we can easy work around this but it is annoying!

you are most likely stuck with it the liquid crystal display is most likely pooched in that spot. look on ebay you might be able to pick up a replacement for cheap.
