How to make my own setup.exe

Hello all, me and my friends have made a mod for Half-Life, and we would like to know how to make a setup for it. I know there are some programs out there to make them, but i'd like to hear from you guys what you think is best.

The install would only consist of placing (or extracting) 1 folder to the Half Life directory.

A bat file could probably do it... I cant remember the name of the software that I tried once though that made a nice EXE but it was a pain to use... I think it was Install Demo Sheild or something... seems fairly popular with the last few ID games... I know Quake3 uses it.

you could use winzip to make a self extracting archive and set it's default extract folder to the place you need it to go to. this will allow you to do exactly what you want. Obviously it would not be as neat looking as some installer but it's free and easy.

Lol not hundreds exactly its just a little mod me and my friends made.. so probobly only like 50 people.

But I AM NOT installing the mod on all the comps, thats the point. I want to make it easy for the user to install.

Yea i guess i never thought about making a winzip self extractor, that would be alright i guess, no need for the neatness.

With Winzip, all you need to do is create a standard *.zip file, then right click on that new zipped file, and select "Create Self-Extractor (.EXE)"... what the prompts (it's pretty self explanatory).

once you do what jmichna says you can tell it a default extract directory and thats all there is to it.
