Mandrake 9 dual boot

I have two hardrives on my system C drive is 40gig with XP Pro installed. D is just a data drive formatted ntfs. Is it possible to install mandrake on the D drive? I guess my question is: Does it have to be installed on the primary drive?

No, Mandrake doesn't have to be on the primary drive. Linux is actually flexible enough to be installed on a Zip disk if you wanted to do that.

You can't install Linux onto an NFTS formatted drive though - it just won't work. When you install Mandrake it'll ask you what to format the drive to but I have no idea what it defaults too.

Ok, I will let mandrake partition and format the drive. As always I appreciate the help. Thank you.
