DUN - No icon

Hi,
I have set up a DUN (modem connection) but there is no icon in the tray after connection. So I disconnect by pulling the plug. Any ideas why?

Steve

If you are using Windows 2000 go to "Network and Dial-Up" In control panel than duble click on DUN and click Properties and check box "show icon in task bar when connected"

Go to your control panel and click on Network Connections
Then right click on your dialup connection and select properties.
Under the general tab there is a place to check show icon in notification area when connected. Is that the box that is checked?

If so go to your task bar properties and under the task bar tab select Customize. Look in the current items (or past if you do this off line) and click on it to get a drop down menu. Your's probably says always hide. Change it to hide when inactive.
Hope that helps.
