A78nx Deluxe Hd Problem Another one

I bought a 250 gig hd for my new system. I installed it and everything worked fine. I had a 80 gb hd that i wanted to put into the my system which had stuff from my old system in it

I installed it as a Slave it was slave drive in my old system and it recognizes it when booting up the system. I go into Windows and it doesnt show up as one of my available drives to use. I check in system and hardware profiles and its listed their . I tried deleting it and reinstalling drivers same problem. Drive was working fine and was having no problems up to 8 hrs before i pulled it.

ANy help would be appreciated

Might try changing the jumper to CS (cable select) on both drives.

If you have Tweakui make sure all drives are checked in the my computer section.

I agree with Steve, as on my A7N8X Deluxe, I have to put my WD 100 Gig to cable select to get it to show with my 160 Gig Sata drive.......... I tried putting it to master by the jumper and at the end of ide ribbon, but it wouldn't show that way, only with jumper on the drive at cable select position. Only had that problem when another drive was installed. Also, check and make sure the drive shows up in the bios as well.
