Temps don't seem right

I know a lot of people must ask questions like this, but I've been messing around with my cooling, and it just doesn't seem right.

Here is my system

X-Superalien Case with 6 turbo blue fans
P4C 2.8 @ 3.2
Zalman CNPS-7000 Cu
Abit IS7
Arctic Silver 3
120GB WD
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
500w Aspire PSU

Now, I just re-applied my thermal paste again in hopes of lower temps. When in Winamp and browsing the net, temps are around 46-48C. This is also with all the fans at max speed, which is somewhat noisy. I think I should be getting lower temps than this. I have two fans in front intaking, two in back outtaking, one on top outtaking, and one on the side window intaking. The power supply has a stright through fan system, which intakes near the optical drives, unlike most psu's. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could lower my temps to the 30's or so with my current cooling? Do you think I could be putting too little thermal paste on? I put a thin layer that covers the IHS and you can barely read the lettering on the cpu. Thanks a ton in advance.

When I have a cooling problem I remove all the covers and set up a small window fan just big enough to keep air moving through the case. This should be as cool as your CPU heatsink can get your CPU. then you can decide if you need a better heatsink or better case cooling.

what are your ambient/room temps? Sounds like you have plenty of airflow, but the fans could be intaking already warm air, which doesn't help cooling anything down much.

Definately do what stroyal suggests, taking off the covers, see if it cools down any.
