Fan & thermal sensor questions

Hi, I just picked up 3 fans with thermal speed controls and I have a couple of questions,
1: Which direction should the fan on the side panel blow ? The case had the fan blowing out but I think that it should bring in cool air.
(I have the rear fan blowing out and the front fan blowing in over my hdd)

2: I'm putting the sensors on the gpu, chipset and hdd, whats the best way to hold them in place (other than duct tape)

some pretty good deal at nexfan by the way

There is no rule, you just want it balanced. Front fans blow in, rear blow out. If you have a front fan blowing in and the rear out, the power supply blows out also, I'd have the side fan blow in to = the out of the rear fan and the power supply fan. If you had 4 front fans blowing in and only two fans on the rear blowing out, I'd have the side fan blow out.

Oh, artic silver makes an epoxy. I think Nexfan carries it. I've used it for thermal couples on CPUs before.

This is a strange question, but when you are putting the sensors on the cpu, where is the best place to put it. Under the heatsink, or on the side. I have it on the side right now, but i didnt know if it would screw up the cooling if it were in between the chip and headsink. I would imagine it would, but i wasnt sure.

The sensors on my fans are really small, like the head of a matchstick they fit into the gaps in the heatsink really well and don't stop the air flow very much.
I get 30c,34c,34c, at idle 36c,49c,50c, load on an xp1800 clocked at 1921 mhz, fsb 167mhz. vantec aeroflw hs.

I really don't recomend trying to put them under the hs even if you could get away with it without crushing them.

Never between the sink and the chip.
The side is good. I have seen some online that go under the chip, but I can't figure out how they run the wire without drilling a hole in the Motherboatd

Alivin:
Assuming your CPU fan blows down into the heat sink (like it should) - then the fan on the side of the case should blow in.

If it blow out, it will "suck" the air away from the CPU fan. My P4 runs about 5 deg C cooler with the side fan blowing in than it did with it blowing out.
