Kids Which P4 800fsb ???

Curious as to which P4C 800FSB CPU is currently the best bang for the buck?

I'm looking at the P4 2.4GHz 800FSB HT (decent price) and supposedly will overclock very easily up to 3GHz+.

Or the P4 2.8GHz 800FSB HT (higher price) but haven't heard much about it's overclocking capabilities.

Suggestions? I'm going from my current CPU P4 2.53GHz 533FSB .......

do you ReAlLy need a faster one than that? =P from what i know most P4's are very much alike, that besides cache and speed.

If you're buying from Newegg the 2.8C is currently it. Seems to be lower in price vs the 2.6C too. It has the same great overclockability (3.9Ghz+).

The P4C 2.8ghz is the best deal, but you are right, the 2.4ghz is very overclockable I have the "b" version and can overclock it (if you consider pushing up the fsb till the cpu overclocks, overcloking) to 3.4ghz with a nice copper hs/f (cpu temps never went above 50C even under load).

Can't say much about the other P4Cs, but I have the 2.4 and it OCs easily to 3.0 on stock voltage and stock cooling.

Well the main reason is I went to an 800FSB board and upgraded to DDR400, so the 533FSB is holding me back from what my board & memory can do. I am also wanting to check out how the Hyperthreading performs. Like I said I heard the 2.4's were nice chips and could overclock easily but hadn't heard much on the 2.8's. I wasn't aware it could hit 3.9GHz? Is that with air or water cooling?

Yeah, I looked at the FSB later and it seemed a bit low lol.. but the actual 3.9 GHz overclock i saw was a 2.8C. I was just trying to find an overclock image with the Prometeia.

SO now I have to decide 2.8C or 2.4C and overclock. The 2.4C is cheaper... Hmmmm.....
