Blank screen on Laptop, no 3.5 activity,
I have a Toshiba Sattelite 4000CDS laptop. It is a 1998 model. The machine itself is sound.
When I tried to run it it wouldn't start up until after I had taken it apart a couple of times and repeatedly tried to restart it. It finally executed Windows 2000, but hun when the Verizon ISP screen asked for payment by credit card. It wouldn't stop running that.
I used the toshiba Windows 95/98 Recovery disks and after reformatting the HD, itstarted to load Win 95. However, it couldn't load command and stopped. When I restarted yhe computer it asked if I wanted it to install 95 and I said No. There was a loud click and the screen went blank. It hasn't come on since.
