Compaq Armada 7800

I inherited a compaq aramada 7800 and I was so fortunate that the hard drive was formatted. When I install Windows the screen has shrunk and it does it no matter what version of windows.
I cannot get into the bios I have tried many of the common keys.
Please help........

You will need to install the chipset and other drivers. Go to
http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html
and enter Armada 7800, then select your exact model and os and you will get the drivers.

Thank you for your help. Does it matter If I do the install with a cdrom instead of floppy? My armada only has a cdrom.
Again thank you for your help.

I downloaded the video driver for the armada and when I run the executible it gives me an msdos error that the drive that I am unpacking to is write protected?

Should I download the bios and install? Or is it my harddrive firmware that I need to install.
Please help me on this one........

Copy the files you downloaded to a folder on your desktop, then run the executable. Based on your questions, I would not attempt to flash the bios yourself. Ask a techie friend to assist you.

I tried installing the exe. from a folder that was copied form the cdrom that I have, and still I got the same error. I gave up on windows and installed Redhat 9 and everything is fine. I guess windows just sucks.
I want to thank you for your help, I haven't flashed a bios yet. It was my bosses computer and I just wanted to make sure I can flash from a cdrom because he has no floppy. I know how touchy it is to mess with the BIOS.
I guess the X window system doesn't rely on the data from the bios to set up the display as strongly as windows does.
I guess my boss is just gonna have to join the 21st century and learn Linux.
Thanks for repling, you were the only one.

Tapping the F10 key at boot will get you into the BIOS setup of most Compaq machines.
